Hello everyone, I can see that your posts are about one year old, so hopefully all your concernes have been resolved by now. I am thinking about investing in Resort myself, and wondered whether you have any tips you could give me. Did anyone manage to aquire a location map of the development? If so I would be grateful if you could share it with me. Best Wishes to you all. IzabellaIzabella
The lots have now been allocated, there are 14 leaf shaped villages each with about 25 plots and a total of 365 plots altogether. The plots are now half an acre each rather than a quarter as originally stated.
Also the plots are now going to be sold at nearly £18000 up from £12000. The eco hotel will be started in december and finished sometime next year.

Hello if anyone's out there reading.

Everything seems to have gone very quiet from Someplace Else, and of course, there've been hurricane problems in Belize with Dean and now Felix - but I just wondered if there are any updates from anyone please?

Thanks and regards

GL

I have also purchased one of the Belize plots, and was wondering if anyone had received a recent update on the number of plots which are likely to be built? Vered

Dvushka, hello again.

This is all getting very strange, because I went to their office myself last week to check it out, as I feel the information is too sketchy - not because it's still pre-release, but because it's so inconsistent.

I was told (and I asked several times) that they had currently secured sales for between 105 and 110 plots only.

I was also told that there would be 500 plots maximum on 700 acres.  There was absolutely no mention of a further land purchase.  The concept of the village layout was explained as TWO (only) village areas.

I was there quite a long time, and spoke to two different consultants trying to clarify information.  Eventually I parted with a cheque for the full purchase price, and signed the pre-contract agreement, pending receipt of the full contract, which I was told should be available in July.
They are quite insistent that all moneys paid over are fully returnable if the final contract is not acceptable.

I am particularly concerned, as when I was originally interested in this project I was told 200 plots were the plan.

The consultants seemed interested to stress that once cabanas are built, you wont be aware of any others - they wont be close - but they totally disregarded my comment that I would not be happy paying the same price for 1 of 500 (or more) as I was for paying what I believed to be 1 of 200.

How could they not acknowledge the viability of renting or resale in the face of such extended competition?

It seems that either there's misunderstanding in the company, misinformation being relayed, or, someone's telling porkies!

Yes, they said they had a total of 250 and 200 had already been sold.  I just went to their offices this weekend and they said they had acquired another 900 acres so these will probably also be sold on.  They were talking about creating clusters of residences - like villages -- the first 1 to be allocated nearish the boutique hotel and the 2nd near the waterfall.  I think it would probably be a good idea to leave some areas in between relatively untouched - probably easier logistically as well.

That's all I have for details.  They seem to be busy with the Bella Maya opening.

They've sold  200 already at the time of the show?

My consultant told me that there were only going to be about 250 plots available,  and that the one we're buying is at a discount because it's one of the first and at a pre release price.

I posted the photos I received from SPE.  A google earth pic of the exact location would be a plus - I'll ask Sarah again for one.

I think this is very much the early planning stages although they did say they had sold 200 land plots already as at the time of the Excel show.  When I bought my plot, the only paperwork I signed was one page long plus another half page of T&C.

Hi Dvushka

Any chance you could share the photos you've acquired, I have only been able to obtain a google earth image with no co-ordinates,  and the promise that title deeds are with Someplace Else Belize Co's (unnamed) solicitors.

They are decidedly thin on the important information I feel - however, I have agreed to purchase a plot.

Like you, I feel it's something I want to do - but would be much more encouraged if the plots were mapped out properly.

Is it that we are in at the very beginning? or is it that it's all a bit ad hoc?  I suppose time will tell.

I purchased a plot of land on their reserve - slightly nerveracking as they don't have an exact location for the plot (which they say will be randomly allocated).  Asked to get a googleearth location for the reserve so I can actually point to the locale on a map.  Did get pictures of the reserve from the offices of Someplace Else.

The Belize Reserve:

Has anyone purchased a land plot here, or contracted to build?

Thanks
