hi everyone im just new to this site and need some advice, hope you can all help me.

ive bought an apartment in sunny beach hills, block B, and im using dimitar to handle the legal aspects.

hes told me i can come over to sign paperwork after june 15.

im still unsure as to the whole VAT thing, can anyone advise me please?

also, i was sent a contract by svetla to complete with regard to renting the apartment out, however, as i havent found a satisfactory furniture package yet, the apartment will not be ready for rental this season so i havent completed the contract and didnt intend to. How will i be charged for maintenance fees etc?

does anyone know the actual cut off date that furniture can be fitted before heavy work is prohibited?

what companies offer good insurance and when should i think about taking it out?

Hi All

We were originaly in the FSV group but decided to go elsewhere as did not feel FSV would be able to fullfil our order in time for us to use the apartment on the 7th of June.

We have now ordered through Furnish and Care who are based in Sunny Beach. They have been very quick at responding to emails, measuring up and sending us plans etc.  They also have guaranteed us delivery and installation by the end of May.

We have paid a bit extra than we would have had we stayed in the FSV group,but we needed to get the apartment done before June as we have people going out after us and it would have been too costly to put them up in a hotel as well as ourselves when we go out early June.

Which furniture company are you using, FSV have let me down by the looks of things and we are now well and truely snookered.  We have booked flights for 6th June and at this time have no furniture on order.  FSV promised us by end on May latest we ordered it at the end of March.

The rates are all inclusive per 4+1pax vehicle!  Minibuses 8 seats also available. Prices for shared seats start at 40 bg leva one way, but this discout price depend from our mini-bus schedule.

Also we manage some apartments at "Kamelia garden" and "Casa Brava"  in Sunny beach.

We also have a Makro card and last year you could get a day pass. However I have seen this on the My Bulgaria forum and it does not seem as easy.

The Bulstat card is the same. Last year they were allowing you in on a day pass with a UK Makro card but they are tightening up a bit and have refused some people. It doesn't take long to do this time of the year and if you intend going a few times while you are in Bg its worth it.
One other thing to watch out for is that they don't accept credit or debit cards unless you have a premier account. Bit of a pain when you are first trying to set up home as you never know what might catch your eye.

We wanted to get things into the apartment for my daughter going out with her husband and little girl. We go to check the apartment end of May. (not staying there, we have booked a Hotel)

We will not have a Bulstat card untill we sign for the apartment. We are not signing while August, we are paying last 10%  when we return to the UK 11 June after checking that every thing is OK.

Is anyone who is going out In May planning on a trip to Metro?? (Parmjit, think you mentioned this before??)

If so can you let us know how you get on with paying for goods, ie) cash, credit cards , debit cards etc and if you can use UK Makro card or need to sign up for Metro card.

We used to shop at Metro in Paris, but had a French business metro card and we used to pay cash, never tried with credit card or debit card but would like to use credit card in Bulgaria if we can. We always found Metro to be very good for variety of products and for getting lots of things under one roof (good for people like us who hate shopping!)

We will be at SBH 21st June for 2 weeks if anyone else is around would be nice to meet other owners. We had an e-mail from our furniture company on Thursday to say our furniture will be delivered on Friday (yesterday) Yipee.... then I rang Bev  on Thursday about the cleaning and she said she was going to mail us as she had looked in the apartment on Wednesday and there was already some furniture in there (??)  Nice to know its all happening though.

Any Metro info would be appreciated,

If it was possible for your daughter to confirm that a standard wheelchair will fit in the lifts it would help Dave a lot.

My contract is with Petkovbuild but payments still go through to Melanvest. Between 1st and 2nd payment the IBAN No to which installment money had to be paid was changed. All other account details remained the same. It was Svetla that I dealt with as developer through Premier BG as sales agent. I rekon at some point Petkov was changed to / taken over by Melanvest.

Strangely Strange and Oddly Normal one thinks!!!!!

Our furniture is not going to be ready for when we arrive in Sunny beach hills 2nd June to 9th June.

We are therefore needing to rent a 2 bed apartment for me, my husband and 2 kids.

Our Air con has been installed, ordered it about a year ago (3 Units and I can see it on the photo's). Just want to know who wants the money. I dont want to send it with last payment to the developer if I should be giving it to someone else.
