I have just come back from Nabq and completed my handover and am in possession of my keys and electricity card. Mostafa from Idea4furniture is now furnishing it. 1 bed cost £3900 and you get loads for your money with alot of choice of styles and colours. Price will increase Aug. If anyone wants to see the videos I have taken let me know.queenie1

Have any owners received their keys yet. We went out a couple of weeks ago and it is all coming along nicely. Our apartment was more or less finished and 5 zones should be complete by the end of this month. I have bought the furniture pack through Mostafa at Idea4furniture who was fab and the furniture should be all in the apartment by 8th Aug.

Let me know if you want to see recent videos etc taken.

We visited Sierra Resort in April and photographed all the buildings currently under construction. We have bought building #29 . These photographs are available for viewing at the new Owners Community website www.sierra-resort.com. ( This a non commercial website ).JeffnTracey

Hi steve, well we have submitted out 25%deposit. This has been received and confirmation received. We are still chasing for the Contract which hopefully they say should be with us shortly. I think I will be happier once we have received the Contract. I did receive an email from somebody else who is also buying at Sharm Bride and he too paid his deposit in April and still hasn't received his Contract and is now being chased to start making further payments. He is of the opinion that until he receives a signed Contract he won't be sending any further money. I can't wait until November when I can see the progress!. Regards. Pippa.PippaG
hi pippa.as it stands today.we have wired 50%of agreed purchase price which has been recieved/cashed.we have also sent 8x post dated cheques starting september 1st and for every three months thereafter finishing in june 2008.these cheques cover the remaining 50% balance interest free.the good news as related by omar is that the appartment has increased in value albeit on paper only of approx £5k.is this the stage you are currently at....regards stevetiger steve
Thanks steve. I know they are not as quick as us in getting things sorted out. I have received another email from somebody else and they paid deposit 5th April and still have not recevied a Contract. He and I agree that he will not be forwarding any other money until he receives his Contract and likewisse with us. How are things progressing with you?PippaG
hi pippa.sorry crossed wires somewhere.i have only seen contract copy via e mail written in english and arabic.i didnt recieve e mail re land sale etc i had a telephone call from omar our agent in egypt who talked me through all my concerns.i can e mail you copy of contract if you havnt seen one yet.i think these things take time but like you i am still a little worried.as i told omar i know its not a million pounds but it is still hard earned and worked for money..speak soon stevetiger steve
HI, steve, we still have not received our Contract for signature. We were starting to get a little bit concerned. How long did your Contract take to come through. I have spoken to Tarek but I didn't receive the email about purchase of land etc. Any chance you could email it to me. pippalouiseg@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks steve.PippaG
hi pippa.long time since we spoke.hope all is going well with your purchase.we to have received e mail from tarek and omar.he went into great detail of how developers work ie purchase of land /contracts/ selling etc.made me feel a lot more confident.we have now paid 50%of purchase price and also sent off 8 x post dated cheques.omar also told me tarek owns boats on the nile and are trying to arrange a courtesy trip for all buyers through his company/agents.this seems a great way of meeting fellow brits etc who are buying.have you any news...speak soon.steve.tiger steve
I don't know why you have lost contact with Tarek. He has emailed me a couple of times in the last week. So I know he is still around.PippaG
no new info here, checked savoy group they are not involved, lost contact with Tarek?dav
You should go onto www.goredsea.com and then click on the forum. This may help you as other people are at different stages of their purchase. Some people have appointed a lawyer within Sharm Real Estate.PippaG
What has you legal team advised or have you not taken advice, the egyptian press is full of stories informing the public of dodgy property deals, until the land is fully paid for there COULD be problems, i am looking for anyone one who has received different legal advice. By comparison i have been offered a fully furnished 3 bed villa with pool on the sea front with large plot of land , it is completed and the cost s £55k and on freehold with all the correct papers, looking for those who have legal advice as it is hard to find opinions. Also i cannot find a legal company in uk to recommend an egyptian laywer??, i love the scheme and want to complete but am struggling to get a proper view even though i have an egyptian legal team.dav
Hi am of the understanding that quite a few people are purchasing these apartments and that there are not that many left. How come this has only just come to light. Other people that I speak to at the goredsea.com. forum are obviously unaware of this.I was also on the understanding that this resort was going to be part of the Savoy Group. I am suprised that such a large company would not have purchased the land. I look forward to your commentsPippaG
We placeda deposit, struggled to find a solicitor to deal with this, found one thru an egytptian friend inCairo who has made multple visits and researched the owners and land. His findings are that they do not yet own the land and have not paid for it, this COULD lead to complications later, also 99 year lease is unusual and interest in the scheme is very low. He also checked with other legal companies and this company is not very credible.Any one got any different advice??dav
The latest photo posted shows the shops being built alongside the Sierra complex (to toe right as I stood facing the complex with my back to the sea and main road)suekay
Glad you could access the pics. I go again in December (this time with "the girls" leaving all the fellas at home) and can't wait to see the progress that's been made. It should be around that time that the developer offers the furniture package and it would be nice if we could actually view an apartment before making our choice of furniture and fittings. an't wait to see what progress has been made. Pity it's so close to your trip in November - we could do with spacing out all our trips so as to get regular progress reports. suekay
Hi Suekay, I have just seen your pictures. We were in Sharm in February but only decided to buy when we came home so we are obviously buying blind!! It was lovely to actually see that there is something being built. We went through Sharm Real Estate and they seem really lovely lads which I have spoken to. We are going again in November so I will take some pictures. Will be nice to see the progress that is made from now until then.PippaG
I've just posted photos taken on 10/4/06 but as there are no captions, it may help to know what you are looking at!! Photo(1) was taken at the entrance to the site by the main road with hypermarket on right and hotel on the left. Photo(2) has the hotel on the right and shows the position of steps leading to the apartments. The builders huts approximate to the position of block 49. The hotel circle of rooms is almost complete apart from one block missing to facilitate access to the apartment area. Photo (3) shows part of the hotel "circle of rooms" Photo (4) is a view of the hotel from across the main road by the beach access road. Photo (5) was taken from the "hotel entrance position" between the hypermarket and the shops (not yet started) Photo (6) shows the entrance to the beach road opposite the complexsuekay
We returned from Sharm last night. While we were there we put a deposit on a 3bed 3bath apartment at Sierra Resort. We were very impressed with the agent Sharm el Sheikh Real Estate. There was no hard sell. We have taken photos of the development site (hotel and hypermarket under construction at present, apartments not not startedsuekay

Hi this development looks really good value and the sizes of the appartments are large - has anyone else signed up for one of these appartments yet - how have you established what finish and quality of construction will be like ? Mike RMIKERODEN
