Also just back from Oasis early hours this morning. Was really impressed this was our first trip and was a little apprehensive to be honest when you read some of the other blogs. The build is fantastic we have a few snags but have every confidence in the team at Oasis to get things sorted.
As Cliff said the weather was fantastic I think we saw a cloud one day but the sun could have been playing tricks on my eyes!
It was great to meet so many people at the BBQ organised by Lesley & Sean - thanks it was a great ice breaker and opportunity to speak to other owners. Food was great too: thanks chef Cliff!!!
Agree with comments re: Maintenance fees - PAY UP you are just delaying the inevitable, its in everyone's interest regardless of your purchase reason.

best flights we have found are from gatwick to varna.about 31/2 hours.Taxi from airport is 40 euros.Fights through ba.

Flights: Still can't find cheap flights from Manchester, so interest in best route please. On Dec 11th 2008 Easy jet starting Man to Sofia. Already booked to go to Bansko over New year. It was Cheap at £120 (with tax etc).We are going in Sept., so any info?
Rentals: I had lots of interest, but closed off now, as Apt furntiure not to standard. Working with a company to correct. Will Open for business as soon as fitted.
We could rent out as we have all the basics, but very little in Lounge , so not enough seat to sit on. Kitchen also very small
We did get several people interest - long term lets also.

haven't bought the small items package yet as waiting for some snags to be ironed out first on some other issues.
is anyone renting yet?
we were going to wait until next year as apartment not fully complete and lifts need commisioning.
I would be interested to know if anyone has been able to rent yet and what the feedback was | bozzy |
Hi
Bloody Nightmare!!!! We didn't make it to our apartment last week, instead we spent 17 hours in Manchester Airport! We eventually cancelled so we have to plan another trip next month now.
Apparently there was an explosion at the military base next to Sofia airport and it had shattered the glass in the terminal windows so the authorities shut the airport. The explosion was caused by a fire in the ammunitions store!!!! Not sure if it was deliberate. Anyway that put an end to our trip.
Has everyone been flying with Bulgaria Air? I have to say they were, although a little slow to begin with, were really good considering and have refunded us our flights which technically they didn't have to under the circumstances. Flights are a bit pricey compared to the budget airlines who it seems fly to every other eastern european country! Based in the North-west we currently have limited choice. I have however discovered a route which I have booked for our trip next month saving us £125 each compared to what we paid originally. If anyone else is NW based I can give you the details.
We haven't bought the small items package yet - is it any good? Seems to be less hassle than having to take all that stuff in your suitcase.

Hi
We went out to see the apartments at the beginning of May and they were just starting to clean out the pools and cut the grass as we left so it sounds as though things have moved along quite a bit since then which is good news.
Can anyone tell me if they have paid the extra for the sheets and other things and if so have they all arrived and has all the snags and furniture been done now?
On another matter can anyone recommend a rental company that is reliable?
We were really impressed with the apartment and can't wait to get back to see how things have moved on.
We also thought there was to be a tennis court too and hopefully in time this will appear!

Yes, there should have been a tennis court - the complex was sold with this as a benefit.!!
This should be present. Where is it, i wonder?

Hi Folks,
Found this forum the other week, just got chance now to post first comment. My business partner and I are visiting the apartments this weekend and to sign our deeds. From the majority of the posts it sounds quite promising, can't wait to see it. I understand peoples comments about the maintenance from both sides I have my own thoughts but I will reserve them until I get back and have more time to discuss. Yes we have paid!
If anyone else is there this wkend and would like to meet up we would be more than happy to. Love the tennis court idea bozzy, on the very first artist impression I received from BD, it actually shows a tennis court - does anyone know anymore about this?
Darren & Paul | dazsp |
hi just returned from oasis,it is a great site.didn't acually stay in apartment as work still to be done.Very positive discussion with Maria.
Agree with comments regarding maintenance.Pay up or we all suffer,a great example of this is the lifts, which still aren't comissioned, hopefully they will be in future before it gets busy. The complex has great potnetial but will be a slow burner. The hire shop is open with mountain bikes etc, which is a graet idea.
Once everything re apartments is sorted a tennis court would be a great addition and a great rental draw.
| bozzy |
Reading between the lines it seems the majority of people who have not paid the maintenance fee seem to be the people who have not been on a visit to the complex recently and seen what hard work is going on to get it up and running for us and anyone else who may visit. the bulding is excellent, and the surrounding areas, the village of Bliznatzi and the beach and river area are really good. we had a week there to sort out our deeds etc and now we canot wait to go back. It has such great potential but it must be maintained for all our benefits.

JUST GOT BACK- AS EXPECTED, SUPERB RESORT, GREAT WEATHER, GREAT PEOPLE, HAD MEETINGS WITH DEVELOPER, MANAGEMENT ETC, PICKED UP DEEDS FROM SOLICITOR WHICH TOOK 10 MINS. TRIED LOTS OF RESTAURANTS, BOAT TRIPS ETC. THE POOLS ARE OPEN AND WORKING THE SNACK BAR IS TOO. I WOULD AGAIN URGE THOSE THAT HAVENT PAID MAINTENANCE TO PAY UP- WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?

| Full support for the maintenance team, it was not until my recent visit that I understood how they have been doing work to help us to get our investment up to a respectable level. Its no good holding back on paying the maintenance fees, all people are doing is biting of the hands that feed them ! | Travel Writer |
Hi everyone me again,
We would urge all who have not paid maintenance to do so this is so important from your investment point of view. The building is good, the plans for the future sound great, but like everything in life not without effort, this is now needed from you yourselves. Looking back on write ups previously any questions anyone has can be answered. We are really looking forward to going out again very soon.

Hi Everyone,
Just arrived back from Kamchia (Oasis Beach) on Friday 20th June 2008.
We went out to Bulgaria not really knowing what to expect but feeling the only way to view and put to bed all our thoughts was to put our bum on the flights and go and see for ourselves. So we did. We will be honest we arrived to a spray of negativity, and returned to our appartment feeling really down on the second night. Work up the following day took the bull by the horn and decided to get together with all on site. We posted notes on doors of people staying, arranged a get together, and never looked back. We ironed out so much, once we were all in the know of who had experienced what, when and how the craziness left us. This really is a great site in a great location, with great potential.
We got together over a meal by the river, we had a barbecue on site, the staff work none stop, and couldn't do enough to make our stay productive and positive. We

Hi everyone. We have recently returned from a weeks wonderful trip to oasis! We have bought two one bed apartments and are very pleased with them. one overlooking the pool and one the field and sea view at the rear. The complex is looking very impressive, and staff there are doing a great job! There is a snack bar already in operation, for snacks and drinks. You can also hire items like Cycles, which we did for 10 Lev per day, and cycled to the beach through the woods. There are other cycle routes in the area to explore. You can also hire items for apartments, like iron and ironing boards.etc.,
We are very pleased with the standard of the rooms and the building of the complex, and are definately far better than average holiday let apartments. This Complex has so much potential.Especially being in such a fantastic location, Miles of Stunning Beaches, and Countryside to explore, as well as Kamchia River, where there are snack bars and restaurants, and boat trips available to explore this stunning area.
Also great village life in the local twin Towns of Blisnak, approx, 15 mins walk from the oasis, this is a lovely typical Bulgarian Village, with 2 Restaurant/Bar, and a couple of Grocery Shops, and one Very Freindly Bar - Jimmy's Where you will be made to feel at home by Jimmy and all the locals!!
Varna the coastal Capital City! is less than 20 mins drive away, and is a very cosmopolitan, modern, and lively city, with Squares lined with street cafes, and every manor of restaurant you can think of. Something for everyone.
We were very pleased with our trip, and we cant wait to visit again at the end of August. What a great place !!

| my thoughts exactly "travelwriter" ..... no maintenance fee means no maintenance ..... imagine what the complex will look like in a yrs time if it is not maintained properly ........ this will only add to letting problems in the future!!!!!!!! and also potentially spoil a good investment ... | imurphster |

We have just returned and the complex is looking good, and anybody that have not paid their maintenance fee are just making it hard for all.
We have a good maintenance team and they need paying, this is going to be a fab development in a real good location, so get out there and enjoy.
If we are all paid up we have a real good chance of getting some rent in this lovely location.

Hi All,
I am owner of an apartment in block B of the complex. I have just returned from my visit to the oasis resort and have to say I am very pleased with the build quality and location of the complex. There were a few issues with the apartment, however on the grand scale of things I firmly believe we have a great investment out in a lovely area that has great potential. If you like a relaxed holiday away from hustle and bustle then Oasis complex is for you. I think hiring a car is a must ….. Varna is 20 minutes drive away (approx), Sunny Beach is 1 hour (approx) and Golden Sands is 40 minutes away from complex. The complex is not 100% complete, at the moment there is a small café open that serves drinks and snacks and we were able to swim in the pool of block A whilst we were there (the other 2 pools were being treated). Whilst I can appreciate that many people have issues with furniture packs and every individual case is different, it seems to me that a viscous circle has developed …. People haven’t paid maintenance for communal areas and therefore the management company can only employ skeleton staff to maintain the property … there are currently 10 people on site who are doing a great job … I would suggest that we as owners need to have a positive outlook in order to move the complex forward… in the long run how can we expect to rent the apartments if we are posting negative comments on the WWW. Perhaps a meeting (in the UK) between Bulgarian Developments, Chaz (from premier bg maintenance) and all owners would be a step in the right direction???????????????
To conclude I believe the apartments have great potential but only if we overcome the existing issues by working with the management company. We as owners need to develop a collective voice!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all I have just returned from very relaxing week in Oasis. The complex looks stunning as you approach, being only a 20 min drive from Varna airport. Oasis is in a beautiful area of Kamchia overlooking the forest, a number of apartments have a sea view. Within a 5 min. drive there is a lot of wildlife roaming such as wild boar, buffalo and nesting storks.
A short 15 min walk is the up and comming village of Bilznatsi where the restaurants serve good traditional foods at very reasonable prices. A short drive through the forest to the river where a boat trip is the best way to see this at its best. The beach is one of the best in Bulgaria. Another option is to hire a driver for the day their knowledge of the area is teriffic and for 8 hours the cost is around 85 lev currently around £35. The more active types can hire bikes for the day.
Oasis itself is becomming more operational by the day whilst the pools were very usable at this time of year they were on the cooler side. There is a small shop offering light snacks and drinks. | oldtimer |
| owners of A2-2 and agree everyone should get the maintenance paid, we need this site maintaining, nobody will do it for free and I want to be confident that there are people on-site maintaining it for us, looking after the place in our absence. Once up and running it has great potential as long as it is maintained. | brooke |

I MUST AGREE WITH OTHER POSTS- PAY THE MAINTENANCE FEES THEN ARGUE ABOUT THE FURNITURE ETC AFTERWARDS OR YOU RISK LOSING A GOOD INVESTMENT.
CLIFF | cliff |
Owner of Apartment B5-5.
I urge ALL owners pay the maintenance fee.
Do you want you investment to be looked after?
We purchase this Appt for a long-term investment, all these problems are short term, and can be sorted out for a few more hundred pounds. When you have spend thousands, what’s a few more ££, to get to final post.
A lot has not gone to plan, but the building is complete , and looks good. (I went out in Oct 2007, and was impressed by the build quality). Our Appt was complete, except kitchen and furniture.
BG have been ok with us, but we have always asked right questions, to Lisa, Nick & Gary.
We now look forward to Kamchia area developments and getting some items of furniture for our Appt.
We are still looking to rent out this year, and I have already had some offers for August.
Suggest owners pay up, advertise their Apartments on the many internet sites, and get on with looking after their investment. | B5-5 |
OK Guys. My name is mike and I have just returned with my father in law from Bulgaria. I stayed at the appartments and just to help out here - The guys out there are working extremely hard to get this place up and running. By not paying the maintenance fees you are hindering the development itslef. I suggest you pay the maintenance fees and have the communal areas and pools working and maintained.
My situation - I am a financial adviser and as part of my remit to my clients I provide advice on off-plan properties overseas. I have used this as a test bed for myself to offer to my clients. I have clients with Bulgarian Developments properties in Bansko also. That resort is fine as far as any problems that arise. My experience in other countries such as Spain is that some resorts have completed without problems and some have had substantial set backs.
To hold out on a little money now and jeopardise your whole investment does not make financial sense to me. I also don't want to be paying heavily in the future because other people have dug their heels in. I have been in most of the rooms out of interest in contacting other owners. The majority of the furniture is on site and under construction. Please remember that the bulk cost of this is the kitchen. I urge you to contact me if you want information. Safeguard your investment first and if you still wish to chase Bulgarian Developments later then that is your choice. I am also considering it, but firstly I want my investment to provide some returns.
My father in law and I met with some other owners out there who have agreed with us that the area, quality of materials are very good. We have a good feeling about the area itself. It was a pity that Bulgarian Developments sugar coated a lot of things and were not upfront to start with. It would have saved a lot of time and effort. We have examined plans for the area and spoken to locals. Next door is a fenced off area, which is earmarked for a similar complex and is invested in by the Russians. Also, a little down from that is a site earmarked for a Russian Sports academy for training and recovery from injury. There is a lot of Russian money earmarked in the vacinity for developments. There are new cafe/bar/restaurants being developed and older ones are being regenerated down on the beach and river front. This place will look very good in the near future.
OK. my number for contact if anyone wants help and advice will be provided if you respond to this message and geuinely want help and feedback on what I saw. I have gathered a wealth of information, hired a car - which was easy and am willing to help you out here. Please work with me. Yes there are things to tidy up and snag, but the sooner you get on with it, the sooner you make a return on your money. I have a gallery of pictures taken which you can have on CD if you want as well.

Hi All,
I have not visited my apartment yet, however I have had a meeting with Nick from Bulgarian Developments and he frankly does not care its not his problem. I have not paid BG Premier either as I have not got keys or deeds yet. Nick sent a letter out stating he is happy to provide the sofabed table and chairs but nothing else only if I sign a waiver saying that Bulgarian Developments have no further liability. I however have paid money to Bulgarian Development as they are the agents and if they have not been able to manage companies that they have assigned then I hold them responsible. Thus I intend to go down the small claims court and standard trading's. I would welcome anyone contacting me to see how many people are in the situation.
Thanks

Hi there.
I have property in OASIS and agree with peoples comments about paying the maintenance fee - how can we expect the development to flourish without maintenance?
Come on people, pay the maintenance fee and let's see some improvement.
I have visited my property and consider the quality of build to be GOOD.
I wouldn't work for free, neither would i expect Premier to do so.
Lets move upwards and get OASIS on the map! | whisleblower |
Hi, Margaret and Vic here. We are visiting our apartment at Oasis Beach on 15th May. We were planning to stay there but after reading recently posted messages have decided to have back up accommadation. We plan to visit solicitors after the recent legal changes whilst there, we were informed of this by BD. We agree with comments that paying the maintainance fee is in everybody's best interest. Will up date on our return. | magvic |
Hi
Just stumbled across this site. We have bought an apartment at oasis beach resort. We have booked flights and are due to visit on 30/05. Bit apprehensive now after reading all the comments about the area and problems with furniture.
AOR | AOR |
were back!!!
Unfortunately not good reports. where to start?
If you are planning to holiday soon i would arrange other accom. possible in varna. (30min drive) If you have not seen the area yet kamacha is a very unspoilt region. Yes sounds idealic but theres no shops, bars or restuarants that are in a fifteen min walk of the complex. You MUST hire a car!
The beach is a 15min drive,airport 45mins,Varna city 30mins.
There are two restaurants in Kamacha, there nice and cheap but if holidaying you would be very limited.Kamacha is a pikey site, shanty huts in woods.
Our visit was short lived and after 1 night we moved to varna city to make the most out of our expensive break.(due to flights)
The furniture was not at all there and to be honest its cheap and nasty.(not at all the pack that i thought i purchased. Apparently ours was the most equipped, and we were able to see through windows to others and it was TRUE.
The bedrooms were short of beds, dressing tables, bedside tables and bedding.Sofas, armchairs and dinning table werent present. (dont forget ours were furnished the best so far, hate to think what there version of worst is) We spoke to someone who was on site and there certain armchairs arent even going to appear!
On plan my apartment should have a terrace, being ground floor. You guessed it...not there. The standard of work is poor in the actual appartment and weve pictures to prove it.(plaster boarding cracked, toilets not working, bad drainage, leaky sinks.bodged snagging
There was no bar, restuarant, tennis court, indoor pool, supermarket on site.admittedly the potential is there and room for a bar and restuarnt have been slightly furnished(few stools and tables small bar.) But this is a long way off.
The shame is the complex is beautiful and could be great. But there is no more work going on.theres workers on site but they dont do anything except for hang around and smoke-apparently they keep there jobs that way,but refuse to work as they arent getting paid.
The pools were green, the grass over run. So you can start to see why we moved to varna for the rest of the trip.
We did however see an attempt to cut the grass, and the action of pouring a chemial cleanning solution in the pool, obviously, for our benefit.
we returned on our last day to see if that had worked-which it didnt. Also to see if anymore had been done(it hadnt).
Fortunately we caught up with solictors on the final day.BUT title deeds are not ready to be signed yet, and big blow that stamp duty has increased to 3%,which needed to be paid.
My advise is, you will not be able to rent out this year, possiblity of holidaying is slim for the year and the furniture is going be a battle trying to get, so maybe try and claim through Bulgaria Delelopments for whats missing. Dont excepts offers for the small items packages.knives forks etc. We did at the extra cost of £300. its worth at most £50.go to argos and get it yourself.
Lisa at B.D has alot to answer for.The lies are unbelievable. If they were honest and said the projects been delayed a year and not to go out yet, a bit of honesty it would not have shocked us so much. But she sugar coated the whole thing. The only positive is that in 5 years it could be a great investment but not anytime sooner. sorry to be so glum but thats the brutal truth.
I could go on but you get the jist.please email for any more details-rednimca24@yahoo.co.uk

Hi all.
I have spoken to Chas and his wife Maria a couple of times about various queries i had and they seemed a nice genuine couple who are really determined to make a success of the oasis. I have also spoken to someone who has met Chas and he thought the same thing. I believe that they are coming back to England during May because they are selling up so they have to tie up the loose ends before moving to Bulgaria permanently.
Let us know how your trip goes Diggins. | mark65 |
Hi Diggins,
Look forward to hearing your update, its a bit alarming to hear that maintenance company is on holiday, hope you find out more when you are there.

Off to oasis beach tomorrow.......not looking good. still no full furniture package including standard stuff llike bedding! also the slip into converation about maintenance charge, oh and the fact that NO ONE will be there as theyre all off on holiday. (helpful as we go tomorrow!) im sure your all familuar with all the goings on. Keep reading the reviews and its all mixed opionins. we will find out for ourselves. Has anyone met CHAS yet???????????? what we all thinking??? also anyone found any cheap airlines. were going from gatwick-were in london. so far theyre looking costly and rising. so far theres BA or Bulgaria Air- who happley cancelled our flight. anyone help? will update after trip. | diggins |
| We have just returned from Oasis apartments in Kamchia and are pleased to report the building is complete although some interiors are not. There is on site security and clearly some maintenance of the grounds is now required as the grass needs cutting and the pools cleaning but then if other people have not paid up there will be a danger that this will not be done. I am disappointed that we have not received our full furniture package but having invested over £50k in this we are not going to" cut our noses off to spite our face" for the sake of an extra few hundred pounds to sort it out. We also bought this as a medium/long term investment and I believe it still has that potential. I would like to see this as an attractive holiday let but the lack of local facilities makes this unlikely in the short term but I could be wrong and the lack of commercialism may appeal to certain groups. If there is a meeting planned we would be interested. | RichT |
| Premier BG have been maintaining the grounds in Oct 07 when the lawns laid, the security has been in place since at least Nov.07, these are essential services and we cannot expect them to do it for free, there will be rental oportunities as this is a place of world beauty and importance, there is also going to be a lot of development in the area over the next 3-5 years, there will be new hotels built and all year round Ice rink as well as golf courses. Oasis is the first of these developments this info. is easy to research on the net spend a little time to find out about this area. | oldtimer |
HI, I HAVE A REALLY NICE 2 BED AT OASIS, I HAVE PAID THE MAINTENANCE FEE AND INSURANCE BECAUSE IVE BEEN OUT A COUPLE OF TIMES AND THEY ARE MAINTAINING THE SITE AND PROVIDIVG SECURITY( I CHECKED THIS MYSELF) THE BUILDING IS FINISHED AND LOOKS STUNNING, THE INVESTMENT IS A LONG TERM ONE AND I THINK WILL PROVE TO BE A WINNER IN A FEW YEARS. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE DONT LOSE THESE NEW MANAGEMENT AGENTS BECAUSE THEY ARE AS GOOD AS THEY GET IN BULGARIA AND THEY HAVE INHERITED PROBLEMS, IE, FURNITURE RIP OFF ETC. HOWEVER THEY HAVE BIG PLANS TO MARKET THE RESORT PROVIDE THE RIGHT FACILITIES ETC SO AS AN INDIVIDUAL I URGE YOU TO PAY THE MAINTENANCE FEE OR WE WILL ALL BE BACK TO SQUARE 1.

I have jointly bought two apartments with my business partner and have just learnt that Bulgarian law changed on 1st March 2008 so that any power of attorney (POA) due to be signed, now have to be signed in person in front of the Notary. This was not notified to us by Bulgarian Developments, instead I was told this when I contacted them. Also I have since been informed by the Bulgarian lawyers that stamp duty has increased by 1% and therefore an additional sum is now required to be paid. I have also received an email from the property maintenance company saying they will pull out if not paid. We have not paid as the property has not yet been signed over to us, has no rental opportunity and surely is not maintained during a period when building work is still being undertaken!!
We would be keen to meet with other owners as I/we am/are planning to travel over in the next 2 - 3 weeks.

Hi everyone my wife and I have bought an apartment on the Oasis complex , the development has taken about a year longer than forecast. I am not happy at the way BG paid a company up front for the furniture packs it would never happen in this country but according to Lisa at BG it is the done thing in Bulgaria . From what I can see our contract for the furniture is with Balkan Property Management Ltd. So I can't see any legal comeback against BG . What Lisa at BG did say to me not long ago was that they BG would pay for the furniture that was not supplied by Balkan p.manage . I have just recieved a letter saying they will now only pay 50% towards the cost of missing furniture etc. Also I have recieved a demand from Premier BG the maintenance company for upkeep of the property etc. Has anybody else paid this . It says if it is not paid the whole complex will fall into disrepair and the pools will go green also any onsite security will be withdrawn. A meeting of owners might be a good thing we live in Lancashire and would be inerested in coming along. Has anyone been over to the complex recently , has anyone stopped at their apartment and have any people rented out their apartment yet as i presume not everyone bought their furniture through Balkan p.manage.
I look forward to speaking to anyone with an apartment on this development . Also I went into buying this apartment with a view to long term investment and more development being built in this area over the coming years. Perhaps we are not far away from a good investment if it is only the furniture we have to sort out. Look forward to some replies.

| Hi I am in the Midlands and would like to meet up with other owners too | Travel Writer |
Hi.
It seems evident that a lot of OASIS owners would like a meet.
I understand that most live in North Manchester, some in Midlands.
Can i suggest a meet somewhere in the middle?
Please mail me personally with your preffered location. | whisleblower |

Hello there, i have just joined this website and i have an aprtment at the oasis complex, i have been in touch with a few owners and they are up for a meet.
If anybody else is out there interested drop me a private message and we can see if we can get something arranged. | scott1 |
Hi All - I have just joined this website and I have been reading your comments.
In answer to tylerdj question Oasis Apartments are in the town of Kamchia, my husband visited last may when the apartments were near the final stages of completion and although very beautiful is apparently in the middle of nowhere.
We have not been happy with the purchase from the start and Bulgarian Developments are not interested now they have been paid. My apartment is now complete and has been fitted with a furniture package - ( fortunately I didn't purchase mine through boris)
I have been reading alot of different comments and issueson the Kamchia Bulgaria website and my husband & myself would welcome a meeting with everyone to discuss any ideas or suggestions as to where we can go from here.
