Hi Everyone

We have received our VAT refund today.  Very efficient it went straight to our French bank account.

We leave this weekend fto stay for the first time at our place so no doubt will see some changes from February when we were last there for the handover.

I understand the heated pool is already open but not the large pool.

Hi Folks, I have bought in block N, No: 114. The last update I got was that the final payment is due Sept/Oct. How's the development looking? Marcusmgriffin

Hi All,

This week  we have received our lease from Odalys and a letter from GEFi asking for a copy so they can claim the VAT back. Sounds encouraging!!  Getting the electricty into our name is proving a challenge however. After much dialogue with EDF and finally getting them to talk to IMMO seems like we might have got to the bottom of a problem affecting quite a few houses on phase one not being registered properly at EDF - fingers crosssed.  We are planning a trip in May to stay for a few weeks to get the house sorted out the way we would like.  Anyone know a handyman in the area?lizziebeth

Would anyone have photos very recently of this ie with landscaping done, we are hoping to rent our property ourseves (we didnt buy leaseback)  but when we visited in Jan landscaping hadnt startedso place looked bit rough and photos I got not great for an add

THanks in advance

We are buying in block H. We visited the sight in June 2007, looking very nice. We are going 2-3 weeks this summer to live there for the first time. At the moment we are waiting for GEFI to help us with the VAT refund. We have bougth through French property company, Nicole has been very helpful the whole affair.

We have just signed up for a 3 bed in mas des vignes.  Just wondered if anyone had been recently and seen how things were going? We have bought through VEF who were wonderful.  Excellent service and very helpful.katietom

Hello Liz

Hope you still check this site from time to time.

How is your holiday home developing? have you seen the site?

I was wondering how it was going in phase 1

Thanks

Paul

Thanks Paul very helpful  Don't know quite what went wrong for us with VEF as we had heard they had a good reputation & so that's why we went with them but really has been bad.  We had a girl called Katie looking after us originally & she was fantastic but she left & since then we have had several different people & it's gone from bad to worse.  Not an experience we would wish to repeat.

Anyhow what you have told us is very helpful thank you.

Have you been to the site?

Regards Liz

Hi

I found VEF to be incredibley helpful. They went through every thing.

Anyway, I will try n help with ur questions

The TVA is refunded 6 months after completion.

Yes you will need a french bank account. The rent is paid annually for your chosen option. You will need insurance for the building the rental company Odleys ( its spelt someting like that) will insure I think while you let it out and they will pay for bills while it rented out. You will have to pay income tax on the rental but you do not have to pay it twice ie in france n in the uk as there is a special arrangement.

Odalys is a large management company in France, I guess they will be good.

The developer is a good one I have heard,

Hope that helps

Paul

Hi I am buying in pahse 1 of Mas de Vignes through VEF (not very helpful) Block G.

Have not managed to get to the site yet & we are due to make first large payment.  Anyone know if work has started & how it looks. Nervous of signing final contract & sendig large amount of money with no feedback as to what is going on.

Also any info from experiend leasbackers on how the leaseback scheme works in practice would be good. How do we get rent etc & do we need french bank account & how do we get VAT back.  VEF are pretty useless take 2500£ for language & law service but can't or won't explain things!

Many thanks

Hi Morris,

Good to hear you had a good time. Did you get to the sea, is it really only 30 mins. I did enjoy monpellier very much.

I visited the site a last year and it was bushes  n trees only, so good to hear work has started.

I am not sure about the document you mentioned. I am in the process of mortgage application just now.

I think the main contract is due in Oct to sign.

B/W Paul.

Hi Paul,

Meant to post the email onto this site but sent a private message instead.  We are using Latitudes.

Have you managed to make contact with any other purchasers?

Regards.

Morris

hi morris who is your agent, did u take some advantage of the strong pound? paullidgate
Message for Paullidgate. Hi Paul, Nice to hear from you. We think the development is in a very good postion for exploring the Camargue and Provence. We have not yet visited Montpellier, but love Nimes. Which agent are you buying through? We are finding it a little difficult to find out all the details we need to know before we sign the contract. Is this your first leaseback? Have you heard from any other purchasers? Which block are you purchasing in? Ours is in block U. How did you send your deposit? Did you use Hifx or your own bank? My email is morris@bonebosken.freeserve.co.uk. Please leave yours so that we can correspond and compare notes. Regards. Morris Morris
