| Hi my name is Rachael and myself and my fiance have bought an apartment from the Cynus block at Lakeside Garden. I have been checking Artev Homes website every day for April pictures and they have not been loaded up yet and it is now 01 May. Does everyone else have the same frustration I have cause I am eager to to how the development is progressing as I have booked to go out for a holiday in June. I have emailed Artev three times and have been told that they are having technical difficulties with their IT department. Also could anyone tell me if they plan to rent their apartments and what avenue are they going down to do so? | rachaelrm |
Hi All,
Good to hear from some Lakeside Garden neighbours. I have not kept an eye on this site for a bit so missed the posts.
My wife and myself bought a C type apartment in March 2006 we are looking forward to the completion. We visited Hillside in May 07 a couple of days after the completion party. 95% was complete a bit of ground work was required but pools and
Play areas open all looked very nice ands of a high class.
We bought through Superior, but them going bust will hopeful not affect us as we have had little contact through them always dealing with Artev, who we are happy with and we feel they try to offer a good service.
Our plans are as follows. We are going out on April 26th for nine days. Return flights cost £92 each all in, with Thomas cook airlines. I use the website called skyscanners to find the best deals, and then they direct you to airlines web site. I believe that’s the best price for a return trip yet seen. For furnishing the apartment we are going to IKEA in Izmir. We have visited our local store and I have emailed IKEA Izmir they have been very helpful and gave me a sales adviser. I will order and pay for the goods next week and have delivery when we are there. We are taking friends out with us, he’s is a chppie so expecting to get better quality furniture from an international trusted company for around half the cost of buying a package.
I will hope to conclude the purchase of the property when over there. Emailed Artev last week on this awaiting reply. We have also bought on Turquoise and appollinium. For this reason we must rent out the apartment and have just set up a web site. Wintersunholidaysbodrum.co.uk to help marketing. This is not yet on Google as it takes time to register, if you type in the web Address at the top address bar on your screen it should come up. The Web address bodrumsun.co.uk will also get you there and is a bit shorter, just make sure you include .co.uk. We have kept prices cheep to stimulate interest as the first year should be about getting word of mouth interest and not making money. I work in a company that has 5,000 employees on one site so will hopeful have plenty of interest from there. The web site is unfinished yet but please have a look and test my mail or post system out. If you have any ideas for it or don’t understand parts of it (I’m still learning) please let me now, Also if you think you may like too include your property, some weeks I may be double booked and I can offer a similar Option.
Anyway plenty of typing from me, nice to hear from fellow Lakesiders.

Hi
My friend and I are just back today from our adventure in Turkey last week so I'll try and share with you how we got on and what we learned!
We stayed in Izmir as we were advised last year that this is the best place to go for furniture we had definite ideas of what we were looking for our homes and Artev's packs didn't really offer what we were looking for. There is an area called Karabaglar about 15 mins from the centre of Izmir which is just a road lined with furniture stores/lighting stores - not very glamorous to look at but some offer very luxurious furniture when you go inside, but it can be expensive. We found an absolute life-saver of a company who make your furniture to the exact measurements, which is important as the Artev bedrooms are not overly generous and the furniture Artev offer is rather large (have you looked in the show house for example?)
We did wonder what we'd done when we first arrived in Izmir last Saturday as it is a very working class city which is densely populated with a strong muslim community - you can only buy alcohol in hotels. We felt like celebrities in our week there as we were obviously not what these people were used to seeing and boy did they stare at us!! But they were really friendly and pleased when we frequented their cafe's/shops and very hospitable, there was no pressure or making you feel bad if you didn't buy anything.
Anyway to cut a long story short on the shopping part - Izmir was a challenging experience but we loved it and feel we achieved lots in that week. So if you have the guts to do something different then I'd highly recommend it ,the food is cheap, there is a good bus service to Bodrum which takes 3.5hrs and the people are extremely friendly.
ARTEV NEWS:
Lakeside Garden where our apartments are has come on a lot but although they are still commited to finishing at end of May I'm not entirely convinced they will, there is still a lot to do on site and at the beach.
We asked about the development of the beach and were told that they had started this and showed us the diggers down at the bottom of the hill on the beach area.
Vita Park should have one course finished for this summer - apparently they sowed the wrong type of grass the first time which was killed off by the salt water from the lake and this is why it has been delayed. The second course is scheduled for completion in 2009.
Regarding Millitary permission - they checked when it was applied for us which was on the 3rd September 07 but not through yet?
At the end of the day we have made our feelings known to Artev that for the final payment to be made 'everything' needs to be completed and this will include the beach as it is an important selling/marketing point. On that note Artev have sold out on everything at Lake Tuzla (although they say that a few are reserved at this stage and not finalised) they are now directing potential customers to Kusadasi to purchase from them.
The beach is for use by the residents of Flamingo/Lakeside Gardens and Turquoise only.
The rental potential through Artev is unconfirmed at this time, they had a contract with Lotus travel for Hillside last year but have not been approached by them to date for Tuzla Lake and we were told that Artev will proceed with arrangements themselves for renting if they don't hear from Lotus.
If there is anything else you want to know please just ask. Sorry it's predominantly about Lakeside Gardens but that's where our apartments are and the only place we were taken but I have to say that the Flamingo resort buildings looked lovely as we passed it!
I'm looking forward to hearing others news over the next couple of months until we return in May.

Hi everyone,
Can I ask if anyone has been granted a delay in final payment from Dec 07 to May 08 due to the delay in completion of the site?
By the way I am looking to sell my C type roof terrace apartment for the same price I paid for it 18 months ago. If anyone knows anyone who mught be interested then I would happily pay a finders fee on completion.
Regards to you all,
Mark

Hi Karen,
I hope you have a good trip. It sounds like you have already made the decision to furnish your places yourselves. I still can't make up my mind. I think the Artev packages are probably expensive - but can I be bothered to trawl around Turkey to save a couple of hundered quid? It might be fun....it will certainly be a bit of an adventure and I wish you the best of luck. (NB There's apparently an Ikea in Izmir if you're interested)
I'll be very interested to know how you think the beach is progressing. Last time I spoke to Katherine Kadron in Artev Aftersales she said completion is due in May. I'd also like to know how the golf course(s) are coming on. Originally they were opening in late 2006.
How are you getting there? One of the problems I've noticed is that a direct flight to Bodrum costs more than a weeks package deal. Be interested to know how Artev are going to deal with that in their marketing. To be honest I'm not anticipating much of an income from that - there is going to be a glut of places on that hillside. Let's hope I'm wrong.
Any info you can get from Artev will be gratefully received, along with any hints/tips from your own experience.
Best wishes,
Murray

Hi
I've just joined this forum over the weekend and am looking forward to sharing information with fellow owners of Artev properties in Tuzla Lake. My friend and I have apartments in Lakeside Garden and are heading out to Turkey on 16th February. If anyone has any questions they would like asked of Artev which we can add to our extremely long list then please feel free to forward to me.
We are staying in Izmir this trip as we were advised this is the best area to buy furniture, appartently there is a road which is approx 4 miles long that is end to end with furniture suppliers (I'll think I've gone to heaven!) We will be visiting Lakeside site and Artev's office for a day during that week.
Kind Regards

This includes Flamingo Country Club, Flamingo II, Turquoise, Lake View, Royal Heights and Lakeside Gardens. The group acts in the interests of all owners to force your rights as purchasers.
Issues currently being discussed with Legal Independence and Artev as a group are:
- Lack of facility completion in Dec07 including importantly, the beach and beach club etc
- Payment delay due to non-supply of above amenities
- Reductions / Waiver of property management fees until all amenities supplied as contracted
- Payment timing with regard to essential documents for mortgages etc
- Water supply issues and backup supplies in the event of drought
- Indemnification of costs for bringing mains water to the site when finally available
- Sewage handling
- Centralised satellite dish - who wants 1000's of ugly satellite dishes all over our buildings
In addition the group actively discusses and agrees actions regarding important issues such as rentals and furniture packages and is moving toward becoming a legal entity in it's own right in order to control and administer it's own activities.
If you are not currently a member, please join the group as soon as possible. It is free to join. As a member you gain access to all private member only areas which cannot be accessed by the public. We look forward to seeing you soon. | Tuzla Lake Owners Group |
