Hi, if you have not set up a company yet in connection with your purchase of a villa, please contact me as I have a company already set up, which I no longer need (as I did not proceed with my purchase).  This would save you the set up costs for the company, as it would just need to be transferred into a new name.  

Went out to Bulgaria this week to complete on number 42. The snagging was relatively minor and Nik sorted much of it out while we were there. There is still quite a lot of work going on in the communal areas but the complex is looking good.

The restraurant is not there and Nik assured me it will be finished by xmas (not sure about that but I am reasonably confident it will happen).

All thats left now is to enjoy the place. We will be out there for Xmas and New year.

Well we are back and we have done it! We have stayed in our property number 34. We stayed there for 4 nights, Swam in the pools etc, etc.

We scowered the house for snagging problems and the only things we found were very minor, little bit of paint needed here & there, wobble on the kitchen tap. Very small jobs that would only take 5 minutes to sort out!

Nik sorted out the house insurance for us with a company that is situated in Samokov town, next door to the new hotel in the centre. It cost us about £75 for the years cover.

A guy called Krum is going to be taking over the maintenance and rental of our house and going to be looking after the communal areas, when you go over to sign for your properties you will meet him at the Kalina and he will answer all you questions, he answered all ours and we bombarded him with them.

Hope you are as pleased with your houses as we are with ours.

Well lets hope it is all finished by then and we can actually stay. I plan to go with family 24-28 Aug, but with all the delays and keep getting told dates that never happen I will probably be booking the Dolna Banya Motel just in case.

I still fondly remember the letter from Paul Cochrane in Jan assuring us all will be done by March!!

I am sure it will be worth it in the end :) Just annoying with not getting accurate dates!

We are going over 31st August for a week for the final completion stuff. Will anyone else be out there at the same time?

We have considered building insurance, we spoke to katie Thornburn (organising rental) a while ago and there was some talk about working out a joint insurance. I will ask her when we see her.

We may all have to chip in to buy a load of sun loungers! It would look better all the same than if there were random individual ones. Katie also mentioned these last time we were out there in March so i am sure she will be sorting this out. 

Have just loaded some photos that my husband took when he was out there a couple of weeks ago. there were lots of them so just picked afew. He seemed happy with the quality of work and fittings although no furniture in then.

has any one organised building adn contents insurance yet?

I'm looking into it with a couple of companies one quote was about £220 for the year, with public liablilty which I understand is essential.

hopefully it won't be long before we can actually stay in our villas!

Does anyone else use the company CI Intellect for their accounts for the re. companies we have to set up? We're not to sure about submitting accounts as property not ready yet!

Does anyone else live around london/essex area, thought it might be good to meet up or perhaps we'll all meet up and celebrate in Bulgaria when the villas are eventually completed.

Just been pointed to this site by James & Rachel (thanks for the recomendation), my name is Paul Lawrie and am buying no 24 at Kalina.

I was there over New Year and had a good look around. Nice to read on here that others have been there recently and it is getting there. Like many I expect, I have been frustrated by the lack on info and promised delivery dates that don't materialize, but hopefully now they are getting close to completion and we can start using these properties.

Hi got back from Bulgaria last weekend. We went to the site at the begining of the week and then returned again the day we were returning to England.

In that one week they had done loads of work on the site, so we were really pleased! By the time we left site the family pool was tiled and they had started on the tiles around the large pool.

The photos of the show house don't do it justice, it looks much better when you are there than it does in any picture I have seen. There were a couple of bits of finishing around the stairs in the show house that weren't great however we were also shown the finished stairs in other houses that was much better as they have now chosen a metal finish rather than the wood finish that is in the show house.

All is looking good and we were very pleased overall. I will add some photo's too.

We got back from Bulgaria today. The villas are looking really nice. They are not ready yet but there is one completed with furniture to get the genaral idea and the furniture looks quite good quality. There are loads of people working on the grounds, laying the paths, poolside tiles etc. They are also hoping to have the internal road tarmac laid by 10 March. Once this is all done it will look less like a building site. The large pool is huge and the second pool is not as small as it looks in photos. Internally the villas are not completed. Toilets, bathrooms and kitchens are yet to be fitted. Walls and ceilings are not painted and floors are not laid.

We will be going back in about six weeks hopefully to stay in the villa and sign the paperwork. In the meantime if anyone goes before then please keep us all updated.

We are going over to the Kalina on 10th March and hope to be staying in our houses then. As it stands right now that should not be a problem but if I get an e-mail to inform us otherwise I will post it on this site and let you all know.

has anyone received update about villa cmpletion?

ours is supposed to ready by 20th feb.

I'm new to this forum, and wanted to ask a question (apologies if it has been asekd before).

Will owners of the Kalina villa resort definitely be allowed access to play golf on the Jack Nicklaus course? The only reason why I am asking this is I have been following a thread on a website where owners of the Ibar development are posting / sharing progress on their developments and several times it has been mentioned that access to the course will be exclusively granted to Ibar owners. This has also been verified by Ibar themselves (The owners of the golf course).

I wanted to have this issue clarified before I invested.

Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide.

Hi just got back from Bulgaria yesterday.

We couldn't stay in the Kalina because it wasn't finished but the developers put us up in a great little hotel in Samokov town.

Won't blab on about the Kalina, have a look at the updated photos I have taken....they speak a thousand words.

You will see the smaller pool, larger pool, the houses externally finished,  plaster on walls inside and ceilings almost finished.

It was looking very good folks! Gonna be a nother few months though we think.

Has anyone been out to Kalina developments since Cally's last posting back in November? I wondered how the development is progressing.

I looked on the developers web site recently the properties look good value and seem nicely positioned. I'm surprised that there are still some left to be sold; perhaps once people move in the rest will sell on?

I would be pleased to get some feedback.

Just got back from Bulgaria and progress is looking very good, although things are running a couple of weeks behind. About 200 workmen were working on the site and they were working hard. All roofs are on with guttering etc, most buildings are almost externally finished, some with windows in etc.

The inside of the properties currently have a rough finish on the walls and floors. If you are getting the furniture package we have seen the sofas and cabinets, they looked like solid, quality, modern items.

We are over the moon and very excited about staying in the Kalina (which we are going to do for New Year)

 We just knew that the development seemed rilght although ther have been some hiccups. the price and situation were good and our package came fully furnished a great plus for us.

Hope to go our in Dec to complete.

bulgarianportfolios.co.uk is the company we are in contact with thro Right move abroad and there didn't seem to be that many villas left.

Thanks for posting the photos of the Kalina. Progress is looking good.

My wife and I are going out for another look mid November; we have been informed that the development will be about complete other than for decoration etc.

I will take some more photos of the exterior and interior and post them on this site.
