We arrived back from Burgau yesterday and found out the details about joining the club which may be of interest to some of you. They are talking about an initial joining fee of 2,000 euros with an annual payment of 1,000 euros. This entitles to yourself  and anyone staying in your property to use the gym, pool/jacuzzi but the restaurant & bar will be open for anyone. In my opinion the advantages of becoming a member seems quite small for the amount they are asking, unless of course you will be staying there most of the year, any opinions would be welcomed. The pool was open over the weekend although there was no one in attendance. I could not find out any info on what the community charge is likely to be. It's looking lovely especially the plants and flowers, and it's good to see the roads and the areas around the properties are still well looked after and spotless.

We are over again in August, missing out July as it's my birthday and I am off to Las Vegas, so there may be a property for sell in Bugau if the 'tables' go against me

I'm going over this coming week (13th), hopefully I will be able to find out about the position with the club, when it will be ready and it's cost etc. I,ve enquired with the builders and Ana, but both have told me that it has nothing to do with them as it will be run by a private company. Not what I was told when buying. Has anyone sorted out a broadband connection apartments? if so please can you give me details.

Has everyone been advised that there is a meeting to appoint an administrator for the club on the 31st of May - I  just found out on Monday from my solicitor.

I rang a few others that I have met and no one seems to have been informed - am I the lucky one!

I stayed in Lagos for the New Year and had a meeting with Ana at the site. I asked about various issues such as condominium charge, completion date but she could not provide me with any answers. We were able to view our apartment and we must say the fittings and finish were exceptional,  just a few minor scratches on the floor was all we could find to 'snag'. I think it will be still quite a while before we can move in as a friend of ours who has also bought an apartment insisted, and was areed, that he was to be given 6 weeks notice to arrange the finances required for completion, he has not heard anything yet from the lawyer.

The next time you go over and have to find somewhere to stay, it is worth considering staying in Lagos in The Tivoli Lagos hotel, it's really good. It is a 4 star hotel with great friendly staff, a 5 minute walk from the center of Lagos, near the marina. Book with Expedia and a twin room with a fabulous buffet breakfast will only cost you about £35 per night for the room (not each). We have stayed there many times now and have recommended it to many of our friends, it really is great value. (upgrade to the Club Room for an extra fiver a night, they are slightly nicer.

I found out yesterday (friday) that the habitation licence is now signed. I belive this is not the only paperwork required but have asked my lawyer.

It would appear that the delay in obtaining the keys is due to the administration ie signing of the paperwork and this was behind schedule.  We were told ages ago that by around June the development would be complete and by September 06 the habitation licences would be signed!!!??  There are around 99 plots viz villas and apartments and the logistics are taking longer than anticipated. 

By the time we get our licence signed and we are able to go in, it will have been around 21/22 months from originally coming out and deciding our plot!!  It should be good when it is all finished and we are in!

I have visited our apartment on 2 December (1 Dec was a bank holiday - one to remember since most furniture (and other) shops are closed!)

Everything is complete (I have posted photographs on the site) and I went to ostensibly to measure up for furniture requirements (it is quite smart)

.  However, since we are buying from an estate agent, he said that is was more than likely to be around end of January mid February before we could have the keys and to have a look at people who have already furnished to get an idea).  I am probably (although not sure yet) going to buy furniture without the package.  I have seen furniture, occasional furniture and pictures from a variety of companies, mainly on the 125. Good Woods at Lagoa had some very nice pieces in the window (closed 1 Dec!), but 'Decoradora Bella' and 'Chateau D'Ax', 'Home Sweet Home' plus numerous others along the 125 roadside had a variety of differing offerings - depends how unique you want to be.  Almancil had a few avant garde offerings!

I managed to measure up - we have a first floor apartment at the back of the development.but gained no more information regarding extras eg bathroom shower screen, light fittings etc than before we went.  Although overall it is looking very good.. The restaurant will be open for anyone, but the gym is for residents only.  No idea what the condominium charge is likely to be  or about Sky etc. Andy was more knowledgeable about the Cable aspect.

Does anyone have the window measurements for the sitting roon., bedroom and kitchen windows. We are buying an apartment that has patio doors in both bedrooms but only a window in the kitchen.Would be grateful if I could have them please?

Thanks for the information, I forgot to mention about wi fi.  I asked the estate agent who I am buying my apartment and he said that he didn't know what was going to happen re using laptops etc.

I am going out 30 Nov for 3 nights (staying in Carvoeira because I was unsure about the apartment) so I will let you know how I get on.

Just got back and work is still in progress. The floors on the flats were getting a second coat and generally things seem to be close to completion - although still no completion date.

The complex looks great although the pool is much smaller than I had expected while the space for the gym looks very big.

The development agent has now priced up spotlights, shower screens, mirrors and furniture packages.

Thanks for your response to my email. We have booked for New Year but we have booked into a hotel as we have a feeling it could be 2007 before everything will be settled regarding the complex. Friends of ours who also has an apartment there were out there last week, and they said how nice everything was beginning to look, but they thought that it would be a while yet before totally completed, still you never can tell!

Hi, I have the last appartment on the top floor furthest back. I spoke to my lawyer on Friday and she tells me that the building is all finished but that the developer has only just submitted an application for each of the properties to be individually registered. So at the moment it is only registered as one block. This process takes about a month but they have recently changed the process so it can be done online and in true Portugese style this (at the moment) can take up to 2 months.

I am out again at the end of October and will post photos then - if the properties haven't been handed over.

My name is Reg King and I am a 'co-owner' of a top floor apartment. I have recently contacted Ana Marie (site sales negotiator) who told me that all the apartments should be completed about now. Has anyone visited recently and can tell us whether the complex is totally completed and ready for our final payments. My understanding is that before we 'settle-up' the site has to be completely finished and ready for moving into, have I got this right? Any recent pics would be much appreciated.
