Hi All,
In the last few months we have been in contact with Gary Smith who is with Churchills in the Isle of Wight. At first he was very prompt with emails and reassured us that our property was doing fine, and although late would be completed at the end of this month.
However, he is now not responding to emails at all. We are totally fed up with Churchills as they have never corresponded unless prompted by us. I notice that the properties are still advertised on the internet.
Does anyone else have any updates?

Does anybody have any contact details for Churchill OU in estonia. Lee Williams
For those who do not realise it this company is NOT Churchills Overseas or Innovative Solutions. They merely acted as agents although they marketed the Parnu developments as there own. I have purchased at Audra Golf Development and can get no info at all. | boxley |
Myself and my husband have also purchased at the Churchill Beach development in Parnu, Estonia. This would have been fantastic if it was built to the spec and artists impression.
We have had excuses after excuses and we have just started legal proceedings. Churchill Properties Overseas are now Churchill Innovative Solutions, at the same address, but will not accept any responsibility for what has gone wrong.
It would be good if we all got together as we are seriously considering contacting the BBC1 programme Watchdog. These people cannot be allowed to get away with taking our money.
Even if they are going to be built. We have been told November 2008, what sort of quality will they be, and worth how much?
What do you all suggest, it would be nice to have lots more feedback, we can all help each other. Myself and my husband have leant a lot from this, and now know what pitfalls to look out for, but nothing is guaranteed. Always get a bank guarantee, but this was not possible for an emerging market.

I am continuing to become increasingly fed up with what must be agents from other companies continually 'slagging off' the Churchill Beach development in order it must be assumed to potentially further sales of their own properties.
If there are any actual clients that have bought on this development then I would suggest that their best point of contact at Churchills UK office is gary@churchillsolutions.co.uk
I for one still consider the beach site to be one of the best in Estonia and I can see why the ex president of Estonia had his own property next to the Churchill Beach Site and why 'Place me in the Sun' titled Churchill beach as one its 'Top ten best buy Beach properties in the World' 2005.
Please stop this endless speculation and let Churchills get on with the job in hand. We will all lose out if this project is continually put down.

| Anyone who would like to share concerns about Churchills and the proposed Beach development please contact me, i have recently returned from a visit in february and am very sceptical about Chruchill's attitude and the safety (or lack of it) of our investment. | Les Harrogate |
You may be aware of the fact that Churchill website is now down and they are not picking up the phone. I am gathering people to consider possible legal action against Churchill since I have some elements which may suggest they have acted fraudolently and possible been involved in scamming people | SUECHURCHILL |
Hello All
My husband and I bought a villa on this resort via Chuchills Beach resort through Naren Cox. Every 3/4 months or so I would ask for an update however they were very evasive. They claimed at Christmas that it will now be due this month. After looking at this thread I sent a note to ask for clarification on what is actually is going on . Sadly a week has passed and I have had no reply. Does anybody have any recommendations on lawyers as I hope I can get my deposit back after 2 years. Surely there must be a law against the practice of these sorts of companies? Any help would be appreciated on how to get our money back.
Many thanks iin advance | misspiggy |
Hi Baltasoundman,

| Oh, one other thing- I assume that "Tahkuranna beach villas - T313", "Tahkuranna Beach Resort- T310" and "Churchill Beach Resort- C247" are one and the same entity?? | Estprop |
| Great news that there has been some progress on the site, moonkay! How is the infra-structure looking- electricity, sewage, access...etc? How is site security- anyone living there at present? Please keep us updated... | Estprop |
Don't give up the day job scammed! Anyway, for your information the definition of the word scammed is incorrect as I and several other people have taken delivery of our property on this development and I am very happy with my purchase. I assume that your username is intended to give the impression that Churchill has scammed you? Why don't you just shut up and stop denigrating this development. I am sure that all customers of Churchill’s including yourself will receive what they have purchased just as I have. I will pass on your regards to the Churchill team next time I speak to any of them. | moonkay |
Hmmm. I think they let people like you back into the community to early, but, keep taking the medication and do some work on your spelling and grammar. Give my regards to Naren, Karl and Gary. | ScammedByChurchill |
In response to your pathetic and insulting remarks about me being a representative of Churchills by 'scammedbychurchill' I think you are a pillock. Everything I said was true and I am not an employee or even remotley connected to them apart from being a customer like you. You obviously have no idea about construction in the Baltic region so best if you shut up and stop causing distress to people buying on this project. If I did not know better I would say you are just a trouble maker who has a sick obsession with posting crap on this blog. Have you ever been to any Baltic country and seen how the construction methods differ from the UK? I was not misled into thinking these houses were brick, and if so then I would stay well clear. I think you are probably the proud owner of a completely shit new Barratt house and are in need of some education in construction methods in cold climates. Dipstick. I have no interest in entering in to any dialoge with such a fool.

Just joined this message board in the hope of finding out what is going on with the Churchill Village development in Parnu. Like a lot of posters here I have had NO information from Churchill except I just got an email entitled 'Deposit Reclaim Procedure' which implies that
a) the development is not going to be built
b) Churchill are not doing anything to protect or refund their clients
c) it is up to me to contact and pay an Estonian legal firm to reclaim my deposit.
This is really out of order, completely unprofessional behaviour: surely they have a responsibility? Surely they are regulated?
Any help or advice would be gratefully received! | TBrown |
Moonkay, I have just read your post with incredulous astonishment. You are the only person that has anything positive to say about this ludicrous company. I have had the misfortune to be involved with this company for over two years now. Since stealing my money they have not contacted me once of their own free will. In reply to the numerous requests for information I have received nothing but a tissue of lies. In reply to your statement about a wooden construction, the point is as you well know, that we were led to believe the construction was brick (fact: bricks and mortar cost more than wood). Churchills changed the construction so that they could cream off any profit from the properties themselves. I believe this is all academic as the properties have little chance of reaching completion anyway. If you want my honest opinion, I believe you are a representative of Churchill's or you have some other reason for trying to convince others that this is a reputable company. I would be very keen to enter into dialogue with you so that you can convince me otherwise.
We should all be aware that there is legal action proceeding as we speak and I am sure that the crooks who run this organisation (they have now changed their name to Churchills Innovative Solutions from Churchill Properties Overseas in an attempt to sweep their fraudulent activities under the carpet, whilst moving on to pastures fresh) will get what's coming to them. | ScammedByChurchill |
| I too have a property on this development and have no compaints at all. My wife and I are delighted with our purchase and think that it is the best development we have ever purchased on. The location is superb with an abundance of natural surroundings. I have visited the site on two occasions and cant understand the compalaints and moaning on this blog. I would also add that the service received from Churchills was better than other outfits we have been dealing with in some countries. Its about time some of you realised that virtually all overseas developments have delays and hickups but this development is certainly worth the investment. And whats all this garbage about 'Brick Built' property etc. My wife is from the Baltic region and would not entertain buying a brick house for the simple reason that the cement and brick would shatter in the Baltic climate. At least get the facts straight before slagging off timber constructed buildings. If timber was so bad then why is the British government encouraging more timber construction in the UK to meet energy efficiency targets using sustainable materials. A typical timber house in the Baltics will outlast a brick built property if maintained properly. Its about time some of us buying on the project counter these ludicrus postings with a more positive balance or you will run the danger of devaluing the whole project and thats no good for anyone. Anyway, thats enough of my ranting but I heard the other day that almost 40% of all development in Dubai has been stopped/paused so will clients ever take possession of those? Anyone else heard that too? It just goes to show that delays occur in all property markets so lets be thankfull that this project is proceeding if all but more slowly than some of you would like. | moonkay |
| I too have exchanged on properties at this development. I know quite a bit about whats going on and have PM'ed a few of you on here as I'd like to have a proper but private chat. | Brinley123 |
I bought apartment at Churchill village, Uulu, Parnu .It was bought through Naren Cox at Churchill Properties Overseas,Isle of Wight.
He seemed on the level at the time.I had looked at other properties in Talin at the time but after speaking to Naren I thought I would go with them.
What a mistake I made!
I was told the same as poppy123 regarding the developers and the times.
I am planing to contact my MP and MEP and the newspapers regarding Churchills properties Isle of Wight, I feel that we have to stop people like this stealing from people.
I have spoken to my lawyer who informed me it was a good thing that the deposite was made out to the Isle of Wight office and not the Estonian one.
They have distanced themeselves from the Estonian side of Company.
I am now going to get a lawyer in Parnu on the case.
The fact is that Estonia is now part of the EEC so this makes it easier to get to these people.
Beware do not work with these people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | baltasoundman |
| P.s. I used to be poppy123 - don't quite know what I did there. | genevieve |
I thought I would update you on our current situation. On chasing Churchills on the Isle of Wight for an update on the Churchill Village development I have been told that the English office has severed links with the Estonian office and therefore they have no responsibility to me at all. I was to get in contact direct with the Estonian office regarding the return of my deposit. Unfortunately, the Estonian office do not return my e-mails and have switched off their phones. Gary Smith of Churchills over here has told me that the lawyer in Estonia has said that the courts are not taking any more appeals from the contractors regarding their sacking and that a decision on the case will take place this November. I was told that the court will probably direct that the deposits be returned to the clients. After everything I have been told over the last 2 years, this is hard to believe.
My partner and his friend obviously are very worried about the beachfront developments, as they have been told that if they wish to pull out they will not have their deposits returned, despite the fact that gbspain and his consortium appear to have had theirs returned (this is denied by Churchills).
It might just be that the beachfront properties will be completed successfully, but Churchill's track record to date is worrying. I am taking legal advice and we think it would be a good idea if as many of us as possible could get together to discuss the best way forward. | genevieve |
| Hi guys just to let you know we asked and got a full refund. The cheque cleared today. We are a consortium of three friends and too many things disturbed us. We agree with a lot of the sentiments posted by poppy123. At first we did ask Churchills to try and sell on for us....after two months nothing so we decided to bail out. All we have lost is bank interest on the money. I should point out that Churchillsdid not mess us around on the refund and where very prompt.Good luck to everyone whatever you decide to do. | gbspain |
We are buying two beachfront villas in Parnu through Churchills. Although shown a photo of the artist's impression which showed a concrete construction, have now been sent photos and been told that the construction will be made of wood to take account of the difference of 60 degrees between winter and summer. Because the building contractors were told by the planners that the proposed window sizes would not let in enough light, one of the two lounge windows has now been made larger, which does look very odd - one square and one rectangular next to one another. I have pointed this out to Churchills who seem to think that the development is still on course to look wonderful! Have not been at all impressed with the lack of updates so far. Although we were originally told the builders were ahead of schedule therefore the villas would be ready by December 2006 (as opposed to the original date of June 2006), we are now informed that they will be ready by January 2008 and March 2008 respectively. We are planning to take a trip out there in September 2007 to see for ourselves this "wonderful" development which Churchills are still raving about.
We are also buying a two bedroomed apartment in Parnu through Churchills. A 30 per cent deposit was put down in the July 2005. We were told that completion would be December 2006. There was trouble with contractors whereby the original contractors were sacked as their building work was not to the very high standards that Churchill required. Two legal letters were sent to us by the developer direct requesting payment to themselves, which Churchills told us to ignore and to forward the legal letters to themselves. The development was then delayed to March 2007 and then delayed again to June 2007. On contacting Churchills to enquire if this was the final completion date we were told to contact their Estonian office direct and speak to their general manager, Harriet. After nearly three weeks where three e-mails were ignored and her mobile telephone unobtainable, we contacted Churchill's in Newport, Isle of Wight, and were told if we had not heard from her soon to let them know. A couple of days' later she phoned us at home and low and behold we were informed that the development had not even been started due to the legal wrangle with the original contractors. We let Naren Cox know we were not happy with the lack of information and explained that we were quite reasonable people and if there were legal difficulties we would understand the situation a little better if we were kept fully informed of the situation. At this stage we did wonder whether Churchills were a bonefide company at all. Speaking to Naren further and his director, Gary, they did try to allay our worries, explaining that being an eastern bloc country, there were different ways of working out there. We are currently awaiting for the planners to hear more local objections to the development before the go ahead for construction can be given. If we wanted our money back we would have to put the property on Churchills' sales board and await for another poor buyer to go through what we have gone through. At the moment we are thinking we may try and stay the course and see if the property does get built as it would be a shame if we lost out on the market growth by selling at this stage. We did suggest that this Gary nominate one of his staff to do a global e-mail to all their clients of Churchill Village and let us have an update of the legal situation. This e-mail has been sent by Harriet but we've not yet been able to read it as we have to find the correct Windows programme to download it.
We would suggest that you hassle Churchills as much as you can for updates, and make sure they give you it in writing. According to Trading Standards, we ought to have a lot more in writing than we do to have any recourse if things don't go to plan. | poppy123 |
| To gb spain....... Hi, who are you talking to at Churchills? My contact is Naren Cox, who seems to be on the level, although of course you never know! Am thinking of paying Churchill's office a visit as soon as i can find the time. | stevesurf |
| stevesurf....amzed you have been told Jul 07 for completion. We have been told Dec 08? | gbspain |
| Recently contacted Churchills, Completion still stated to be on target for this July. Has anyone received any true photos of the development / buildings so far? | stevesurf |
| Apparently they are not log cabins. we where sent pictures that where not relevant. So ignore comment in my last post | gbspain |
| Asked them to be more accurate now Dec 08. We where sold brick buildings now log. Look okay but find it a bit strange | gbspain |

| We purchased last year. Have not heard anything in over sixth months. Tried to contact various people in Churchills by email but have had no response. We are getting quite concerned about the security of our investment and the trustworthiness of the company. | jeannief |
