Hi Mencho,

New to this board, noticed you have mentioned White water Borovets, we have invested in an apartment there, we know a little bit about the project but not much, we have floor plans etc. Would like to get photos of what is happening at present, have you found out much yourself?

Would be interested to hear if anyone knows anything about the project, its all new to us and any bit of info is more than welcome!

Mencho,

When we were over in BG last year, the lady from Best of Bulgaria, mentioned to us that they had bought a plot of land above Beli Iskar in the trees overlooking the valley which they planned as their next development in Borovets area. She said at the time that it was to be called Borovets Heights 2. Looks like they've changed their minds regarding the name. Would be in a good position i.e. could probably ski to the runs when they're built. Not advertised on their website yet so obvoiusly still in the planning stages. Found the development on google - apartments llook expensive though!

Can anyone give me the status of a project known as "White Water Borobets" in Beli Iskar area? The developer is Best of Bulgaria, promoter is NSP International

Many thanks

Mencho

Hi all

My wife is Bulgarian and we have been married for 16 years now. Bought a house with 1000m2 plot next to 2nd bridge 3 years ago. Price has easily doubled if not more since then.

Don't worry, this is a sound investment I'm sure. By the time it is finished you should have made a tidy profit with no maintenance outlay etc.

Hope to share a nice bottle of red with you in the White River village (translated Beli Iskar) one day!

Kind regards,

Fellow future village resident

Mike

It is good to see a bit more activity.  I thinkk that I will visit in the spring , once things have progressed a bit.  Has anyone else planned a visit?

I am now looking into the need to form and register a company. Does anyone have any experience of this/ advice that they would like to share.

Regards

have not bought in this development but own a house in beli iskar. we bought it over 3 years ago . it is a lovely place and we have seen slow but steady development in the village .we are going again in feb 08 so i will be looking at this development .most other sites are of the small guesthouse variety or like ourselves foreigners who have bought homes from the locals and done them up.apparently the new super borovets project is now set to to be translated into action.i think it will be at least 2 to 3 years before the ski lifts are done to link up with the main resort and despite the roadlink it is safer and easier to go via the town of samokov to borovets .there are lots of new restaurants etc opening here and its a fraction of the prices in borovets

Hello all,

We too are buying an apartment at Borovets Heights.  Investing abroad is new to us.  The first pictures were exciting to receive - eventhough they really just showed a digger!  We will be setting up a Company to own our apartment and we will be signing papers regarding this in January (after Bulgaria's financial year ends in December).  We need to go to the Bulgarian Embassy in London in order to do this.  We were advised that a Company is by far the best way to own the apartment.

Fingers crossed all will go well for everyone concerned with the Borovets Heights project.

hi everyone, i have just found this web site and was interested to read your comments. does anyone have any photos of progress to the development. i have just emailed best of bulgaria and am awaiting a reply as to progress regards stevekittyfrisk
Thanks Nigel, Will contact you direct. Its interesting to note there are atill 12 apartments for sale in this complex, (there were 14 left for sale when we purchased over a year ago) so sales seem to be very slow. However prices have increased by 60% since purchase. Take a look at http:www.best-of-bulgaria-property.com/db/listings/l0147.htm for further info. Regards, Vanessavanessawilliams

Hi Vanessa,

Also concerned about the slow start to the build - wait & see I suppose. Not skied in Borovets yet but plan to this year - like you, go to europe most years. If you are prepared to dig for info you'll see there's potentially serious investment happening soon in Samokov, Borovets & BI in the next 3 - 4 years. Regards a lawyer - we've got one who's based in Varna & has been ok so far. If you wnat to talk, email me.

Hi Guys,

We have puchased and apartment too in Borovets Heights and signed the contact Sep 2006. Things seem to be going very slowly. We rang the agents in Bulgaria last week who confirmed the ground work had actually started at last.

They confirmed was not much to see yet as they are just using diggers to clear the land for the foundations. They advised as soon as there are any pictures they will forward them onto me and hopefully I can post them on here. They said last year construction in the area carried on right until December as the snow on the ground was very light until then, which was the same in most european resorts.

There does seem to be an influx of apartments being built in Bansko which does seem to be the upcoming area. Has anyone actually skiied in Borovets? I must admit we just puchased off plan and have not even been to Bulgaria although we do ski in europe every year.

Didn't realise about the separate amount for heating - will need to look into this...

Our solictitors have also one into receivership so we are looking for some more. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi to everyone,

After an abortive attempt to invest in Turkey, my attention was drawn to the Borovets Heights project. I too have invested, paid the first half and now... waiting.

Its great to have found a forum of other investors, since I'm sure that there will be plenty of questions and information to share as the build progresses.

I'm still not quite clear as to how we are going to furnish/ finish the property... apparently we will have to pay a seperate amount for fitting of suitable heating. Is everyone the same in this respect?

Let me know if you want to exchange email details,

Bye for now

Hi Rachel and Fernando,

Its really good at last to find someone else who are involved with this project. Like you guys, its our first step into the unknown and hopefully not too much of a gamble. Most of what I've heard has been positive, despite a few doom mongers.

We started the process last summer and signed off the preliminary contract back in September and are now waiting for the actual development to start. We are using a solicitor in Varna to handle the purchase & apart from a few minor panics all seems OK so far.

We are planning to go out to Beli Iskar at the end of April to have a general look around the area & hopefully to see the beginnings of the complex being constructed!

Out of interest, have either of you tried looking at a website called www.mybulgaria.info ? If you have'nt you should check it out. Its got just about everything you need to know about Bulgaria somewhere on the site - basically loads of mainly brit/bulgarophiles talking to each other  from subjects ranging from whats the best type of septic tank available on the market to in depth discussions about various details on purchase & maintenance contracts for off plan developments all over bulgaria! You need to allocate quite a bit of time once you've found the site  - warning!!

If you want to continue to share info, i think the best way initially is by the "my bulgaria" website & any personal exchanges via email. If you just want to pm me my email address. To find my posts, go to the forum & search for beli iskar & you'll find some posts by me (nigel468), leave a message on the forum & we can take it from there.

Hope to talk again soon.

Hi Guys,

Im a beginer in this investing in Bulgaria too. I have bought in Borovets heights and am always asking questions to people I meet that have more of an idea than me. The other day I came across a wealthy Bulgarian and obviously as soon as I could the topic of conversation turned to Borovets.

He new the area very well and assured me it was a very good investment, not only that, he also said its a lovely area, in the winter for skiing but also in the summer for hill walking, views and relaxation. He felt Borovets was much better than Bansko where a lot of investors are buying too. This is a good sign guys.

Please if someone can keep us informed on the development progress I think we would all be very greatful.

We have also bought into this development. This is the first investment property we have been involved with so we are not really sure what happens.

Have you got any experience of this? We have found things seems to move rather slowly in Bulgaria especially on the part of the developers solictiors!

Hello to anyone out there who is buying into this development. It's not yet started construction but due to commence in a few months. Would very much like to communicate with others who have gone for this one.
